WESTFIELD AREA Y HOSTS IMPROVE YOUR MEMORY LUNCH AND LEARN

The Westfield Area Y will host a free lecture on Wednesday, May 20th from 12:30 pm-1:30 pm at the Main Y Facility, 220 Clark Street. The topic “Improve Your Memory” will be led by Angela Adams, registered nurse from Overlook Medical Center, whose forte is taking complicated medical issues and presenting them in an easily understandable format.

The presentation includes a review of the anatomy of the brain and information on how memory storage in the brain works. Additional topics: how we store information, going from short term memory to long term memory; how we can improve that process and exercise our brain. A brief clarification on dementia will also be reviewed along with when to seek medical assessment.

Please bring a bag lunch, a beverage will be provided. Register by May 18th either in-person at the Welcome Center or online if you are a Westfield Area Y member. Please contact Jean White with any questions at 908-233-2700 x246 or email jwhite@westfieldynj.org.
