Tuesday Is National Night Out In Collingswood

The celebration includes demonstrations and activities for kids.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — National Night Out is upon us. Collingswood’s annual event will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at the Collingswood Community Center, 5 p.m.-8 p.m. The Collingswood Community Center is located at 30 West Collings Avenue.

Activities set for that night include Parke Bank Child IDs, police and fire exhibits, speed pitch, kids’ zone, facepainting, hot dogs, water ice, Sahara Sam’s Sambulance Safety Squad, free giveaways, musical entertainment, food drive, Law Enforcement Against Drugs (LEAD), bike safety info, Collingswood Library info and Collingswood Department of Public Works info.

National Night Out is an initiative in which people in towns across the country gather at their homes, on their streets and at their local community centers in recognition of their support of the community.

Local state and federal officials from 15,728 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide joined forces to celebrate the 33rd annual National Night Out (NNO) – a community crime and safety event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, ADT, Nextdoor.com, Association and Fun Flicks. Throughout the nation, along with the traditional ‘lights on’ and front porch vigils, there were tens of thousands of block parties, cookouts, and parades.
