Trash Collection Delays Possible In Collingswood. Here's What To Do.

Other municipalities around South Jersey are also experiencing delays in their trash collection.

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — Collingswood is experiencing "some delays" in its yard waste collection around the borough, a Nixle alert said Thursday.

The holdup is due to the observance of July 4 earlier this week, according to the alert.

Residents who do not have their yard waste picked up by 3 p.m. Thursday should make sure it is ready for pickup by Saturday at 7 a.m., the alert said.

Collingswood is not the only South Jersey town that is experiencing delays with some of its waste collection.

Last week, Cherry Hill's mayor expressed frustration with the trash collection delays that have been an on-again, off-again issue in that community since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also last week, leaders of Willingboro and Cinnaminson noted that some residents have had to wait longer than usual for trash pickups.

Republic Services, who is Cherry Hill's, Willingboro's and Cinnaminson's trash collector told Patch it, like "many industries" is currently experiencing "staffing challenges."
