WESTFIELD AREA Y FLYERS TRACK CLUB HOSTS A FREE FIELD DAY ON MAY 15TH

The Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club is looking forward to a fun conclusion to its spring track and field season and invites children ages 7-14 to join the team for free for its final day of practice on Friday, May 15th from 6:45 pm - 8:00 pm. The event will be held at Kehler Stadium, 800 Rahway Avenue in Westfield. Children will join the team for fun end-of-season running and relay team activities and a brief social after practice. Parents will have an opportunity to meet and talk with coaches and the program director.

The Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club is a youth track and field club which coaches nearly 800 athletes on an annual basis. The program offers both a developmental and competitive team for children ages 7-14. The program is open to boys and girls of every skill level. Many athletes join the team to keep in shape for other sports such as soccer, baseball, basketball or lacrosse. Youth learn the athletic skills of track and field along with sportsmanship and competition. Since 2010, the Flyers have trained thousands of children in the community and had 99 National Junior Olympians, 11 All-Americans and two National Champions.

The Flyers will be offering a Summer Track & Field program which will run May 27th to July 15th on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. The program is held at Kehler Stadium and is a great opportunity to maintain or increase your child’s activity level during the summer.
