Hiker, 21, Dies After Falling In Adirondacks

A hiker from New Jersey died after falling from a trail, officials announced over the weekend. The 21-year-old hiker, who was with a dog, called 911, saying they slipped off the trail near the summit of Mount Marcy in the Adirondack High Peaks region, said Jeff Wernick with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Rangers began a search using a snowmobile, a tracked utility vehicle, and the New York State Police sent out a helicopter for a possible hoist rescue but weather conditions made that impossible.

Blood-Soaked NJ Man Stabs Woman, Tells Neighbor 'It's Not A Good Time': Officials

A West Deptford man answered the door holding a knife, covered in blood and told a neighbor, "It's not a good time," authorities said. He was later charged with attempted murder.

Woman Hospitalized After Valentine’s Day Shooting

A woman was injured following a shooting on Valentine's Day in Passaic County, police said.

On Saturday, around 12:45 p.m., police were called to the area of Market Street and Main Street in Paterson on reports of shots fired. Authorities found a 68-year-old Paterson woman had been struck by the gunfire, according to officials.

Man Critically Injured In Shooting

A 46-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting early Saturday in Trenton, according to media reports.

Officers responding to the area found the man at Lincoln and North Clinton avenues after he was struck by a single bullet just before 2 a.m. News 12 reported. He remained hospitalized as of Sunday morning.

2 People Killed In Fiery Crash

Two people were killed early Sunday when an SUV ran off the road and hit a tree then caught fire in Jackson, police said. Officers tried to rescue the two people inside but were not able to get them out. They were pronounced dead at the scene after the fire was extinguished.

Cop Knocked Out Man At Steakhouse, Leading To Cover Up: Prosecutor

A police officer has been charged with aggravated assault after a man was knocked unconscious outside a steakhouse in Park Ridge. Another police officer has been charged in the cover-up.

The incident took place on Dec. 6 last year. Park Ridge police responded to a "disturbance in progress" in front of the Park Ridge Steakhouse. They found a man on the ground with an apparent head injury. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and released days later.

Masked Man Charged In McDonald’s Robbery

A Camden County man has been charged with robbery after demanding money from employees at a Berlin Township McDonald's on Friday.

William Alvarado Jr., 42, of West Berlin, entered the McDonald's on the 200 block of Route 73 around 6:39 a.m., wearing a mask and demanding cash while keeping his hands inside his sweatshirt pocket, leading employees to believe he was armed. He fled on foot after receiving money. No weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported.
