Masks Required At East Brunswick Public Library Amid COVID Surge
All visitors and employees will have to wear masks inside common areas of the public library building, officials said.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The East Brunswick Public Library announced it will require employees and visitors to wear masks in common areas of the library building.
“Masks will now be required in all common areas of the library for both staff and patrons, regardless of vaccination status, effective immediately,” the library said Tuesday.
The library is among other New Jersey public institutions that require face coverings in recent days.

As of July 31, all of New Jersey's 21 counties except one have now entered "high" or "substantial" levels of coronavirus transmission, meaning that the CDC wants residents in those counties to wear face masks again in indoor public settings — including schools, workplaces, and public buildings - even if they've been vaccinated.

The rise in COVID cases is mainly due to the prevalence of the delta variant, first seen in India and first detected in the United States in March. This mutation of the virus spreads 50 percent faster than the alpha variant first seen in Great Britain, according to Yale Medicine.
