Things To Look Forward To In 2023 In Middlesex County
New restaurants, recreation center and more. There's a lot to be excited about in 2023.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — 2022 brought its fair share of good and bad news for Middlesex County. But it’s time to look forward to 2023.
Here are a few things Patch is excited to see next year in Middlesex County:
Route 18 Redevelopment: A lot has happened since East Brunswick announced it was actively going to redevelop Route 18 in East Brunswick. The ice rink located at 110 Tices or at the old Wonder Bread factory got funding. Construction of housing and retail space is underway at the former Wonder Bread site. “Vermella East Brunswick,” a luxury apartment development was announced on the Route 18 corridor. These projects will continue to develop in 2023. And we hope there will be new and exciting announcements.

Middlesex College Development: Officials announced various improvement plans for Middlesex College in Edison. This includes an open-air multipurpose community venue for concerts and events; a new community park; an athletic complex featuring 16 tennis courts, a cricket field and more. Expect construction work to continue on these projects in the new year. Looking forward to see how these projects shape.
Special Needs Programming, Recreation Center In Edison: Edison plans to open a new center for special needs programming and recreation in 2023.

Delicious Food: Expect more new eateries to come to the area Namkeen Hot Chicken + Waffles will open in Metuchen and so will Beans & Bread Bakery.
Road Improvements in South Brunswick: Many fatal crashes were reported in South Brunswick in 2022. The township will get $2,600,000 for signalized intersection improvements. Expect work to begin in the new year.
