Upcoming Library Program Explores Proton Therapy
Proton therapy is an advanced technology and important addition to the fight against cancer.

Astera Cancer Care, Princeton Radiation Oncology and East Brunswick Public Library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center, East Brunswick) team up to present the online program “Proton Therapy for Cancer” on Tuesday, May 3 at 7:00 pm.
This program is led by Dr. Brian Chon. Proton therapy is an advanced technology and important addition to the fight against cancer. It works by using precise radiation which can reduce the exposure to normal, healthy tissues.
Dr. Chon graduated with honors from Swarthmore College, Philadelphia, and received his medical degree and was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Society from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, NJ. He was chief resident in radiation oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston.

He also completed a sub-fellowship in basic science research on breast cancer genetics at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Chon currently serves as the Medical Director at ProCure Proton Therapy Center in Somerset, NJ.
