Public Invited to Attend Annual Genocide Studies Gallery Walk
Annual event open to the public on May 24th, 2017

The Hanover Park Regional High School District is pleased to announce the 2017 Genocide Studies Gallery Walk. This year’s gallery walk is open to the public on Wednesday, May 24th from 3:30-6:30 pm at Whippany Park High School.
The annual gallery walk focuses on several genocides throughout history and the acts of hatred associated with them. The goal of the event is to spread awareness and inspire prevention. This year’s theme, “The Genocide Unknown,” will spotlight lesser-known atrocities and challenge participants to consider “How can we be agents of peace?”
Now in its sixth year, the cooperative, student-centered service-learning project is spearheaded by district history teacher Brady Mahar and has garnered widespread acclaim. Past honors include a National School Board Association (NSBA) Magna Award and the New Jersey Anti-Defamation League’s Aaron A. Flanzbaum 21st Century Democratic Heritage Award. In addition, Mr. Mahar was honored last June with the Margit Feldman Teaching Award for Holocaust Studies.
