1. Investigation Clears Edison Administrator Of Discrimination In Iftar Case (patch.com) — Edison residents are learning that an outside investigation found no evidence of religious discrimination by Edison High School Assistant Principal Nicole Himmelstein over a 2024 iftar event limited to Edison students. Investigators concluded security and supervision concerns drove the decision, though district leaders said her comments to Muslim student organizers should have been more carefully worded. In response, Himmelstein launched a districtwide anti-bias initiative now active in all 17 Edison schools.
   

2. RPRY Launches Bar Mitzvah Year of 'Names, Not Numbers®' (jewishlink.news) — Edison's Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva eighth graders have begun a year-long Names, Not Numbers Holocaust documentary project, learning interview skills to record local survivors' stories. A survey showed most students have never spoken with a survivor, making this work especially meaningful as their 2027 film is expected to become a key way future RPRY classes learn about the Holocaust.
   

3. Edison to roll out dozens of plate readers amid privacy debate (abc7ny.com) — Edison officials have approved spending nearly $600,000 in forfeiture funds on 90 Flock license plate readers that will be installed around the township to help fight burglaries, home invasions, and auto thefts. Residents and council members are split over privacy concerns, while Mayor Sam Joshi and the police chief emphasize state guardrails and local control over the data.
   

4. McKeever, Marx, Schnall power Summit to 20-0 home win over Edison (cjsportsradio.com) — Edison High's football team was shut out 20-0 on the road at Summit, falling to 1-4 despite a strong defensive effort that repeatedly forced stops. The Eagles now regroup for the first of three straight home games, starting next week when East Brunswick visits Edison, giving local fans a chance to see if the team can turn its season around.
