Bergen Dealer Caught With $50,000 Worth Of Cocaine: Prosecutor

Jhoan Tejada, 40, of Englewood was arrested after he sold 200 grams of cocaine to an undercover detective, authorities said.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Authorities found $50,000 worth of cocaine inside a city man's residence after they executed a search warrant there during an investigation.

Jhoan Tejada, 39, was arrested Friday for selling 200 grams of cocaine to an undercover detective near his home on Slocum Avenue in Englewood, said acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo.

Officials later that day executed a search warrant at Tejada's residence and found about 800 grams of cocaine, drug-packaging materials, several contains used to hide narcotics and $1,550, Calo said.

Tejada was charged with first-degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, cocaine, greater than five counce, possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, cocaine, greater than five ounces and three counts of distribution or possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, cocaine, within 1,000 feet of a school and other drug-related offenses.

Jhoan Tejada was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing Wednesday morning.
