UPDATE: Five-Alarm Englewood Fire Prompts Road Closures

Englewood Police say to expect "extreme traffic problems" and avoid the south end of the city "at all costs."

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Englewood Police are asking residents to avoid the entire south end of the city as emergency crews respond to a fire caused by an explosion on Bancker Street.

Multiple streets in the Bancker Street area were closed as a result of the ongoing efforts to control the fire, but Englewood Police announced Wednesday after that South Dean Street and Grand Avenue have been reopened. Bancker Street between South Dean Street and Grand Avenue remains closed, however.

This comes after Englewood Police said to "avoid the area at all costs," in a Wednesday Nixle alert.
