Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Palisades to Host Ralph Waldo Emerson Documentary
The documentary, "Emerson: The Ideal in America," will be viewed Friday, Jan. 22.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Palisades (UUCP) will host a viewing of the documentary, “Emerson: The Ideal in America,” on Friday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m.
Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American essayist, lecturer and poet who led the Transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century, is recognized as a champion of individualism. His belief in “the infinitude of the private man” resonates with modern-day spiritual seekers. While individuals might be familiar with Emerson’s essay, “Self-Reliance,” there is more to the life of a man whose circle included Henry David Thoreau, Walt Whitman and Margaret Fuller.
The viewing is scheduled to take place at the historic Lydecker Homestead, located at 228 Grand Ave. in Englewood. Further information is available through the UUCP website. Those interested in attending the viewing may contact Communications@uucpalisades.org with questions.
