Englewood Man Admits Stabbing Housemate In The Heart: Report

Jose Hernandez-Cerrito, 24, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault Monday.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ - An Englewood man Monday admitted stabbing his housemate in the heart during a fight, The Record reported.

Jose Hernandez-Cerrito, 24, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault under a plea deal, the report said; the prosecutor will recommend that Hernandez-Cerrito serve a sentence of six years in state prison.

Hernandez-Cerrito was accused of attacking another resident of a boarding house on West Palisade Avenue in August 2014, the report said. The victim allegedly sent “dirty pictures” to Hernandez-Cerrito’s wife and the men ended up in a knife fight.
