First Presbyterian Church Members Help Build Habitat For Humanity House

10 volunteers battled sweltering conditions to help build the 1,900 square-foot house.

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. — A team of 10 volunteers from the First Presbyterian Church of Englewood battled scorching temperatures Saturday to help build a home from Habitat for Humanity in Bergenfield.

The team worked alongside future homeowners Carlos and Geovana Pimentel. Five of the members stained the outside the house while the other five installed the front door.

The 1,900 square-foot home will include three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms when complete.

"They strongly stand behind our mission and having the opportunity to host members of their congregation on our worksite was very special," said Pamela Nall, chief of staff of Habitat Bergen. "This group is driven by their faith and that was very evident watching them in action."

The church has worked with Habitat Bergen since the organization's founding in 1994.
