Torell said authorities believe the motive was to rob the man and that he was specifically targeted. Cash, a cell phone, and the man's car keys were stolen. They were located in a sewer drain at the corner of Oak Street and Howland Avenue, about a block away from the house, police said.
The robber was wearing a ski mask, Torell said. Police did not give a description of the suspect.
