Pascrell Opens Englewood Office
Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. hopes to provide eastern Bergen County residents with better service, communication and representation by way of his new satellite office in Englewood City Hall.

Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. opened a new satellite office in Englewood City Hall Monday in an effort to provide better service to the community members of New Jersey’s Ninth Congressional District.
“Anyone that knows Bill Pascrell knows very well he’s hands on, he gets out there and this is a great step for him to come here,” Mayor Frank Huttle said. “We’re honored and we’re privileged to have our congressman here.”
Pascrell hopes this office will act as a resource for residents seeking answers to any federal concerns they may have, especially regarding Medicare, Social Security and immigration.

“(Some residents) don’t know who to turn to,” Pascrell said.
“They can always stop here,” he said of the new satellite office.

For Englewood Cliffs resident Anna Chang, the Congressman’s Englewood office means better representation.
“When (political leaders) are nearby they’re listening to what you’re saying, they’re listening to what you’re concerned about,” Chang said. “That’s why we have a representative.”
Pascrell has two other satellite offices in both Passaic and Lyndhurst, but said he decided to open another in Englewood so his Bergen County constituents east of Hackensack don’t feel “abandoned,” which he said was a concern voters expressed to him.
Pascrell, a Passaic County native, says he spends a lot of time in Bergen County and is proud of it.
He said he ultimately decided upon Englewood as the location because of it’s accessibility and convenient location.
“I wanted to make the office centrally located,” Pascrell said. “I’m just trying to save a few foot steps.”
Government leaders from nearby municipalities, Sen. Loretta Weinberg, Bergen County interest groups and residents attended the office’s grand opening, which came complete with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The office will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and will be run by a caseworker from Pascrell’s office.
“It allows a connection,” Huttle said of the office. “Not too many towns can say ‘our congressman is right here in our town.’”
