Young Bergen County Artists To Display Their Paintings At Garden State Plaza
Artists are between 11 and 17 years old.

Students from the One River School of Art and Design in Englewood will showcase street art paintings from more than 20 young Bergen County artists between the ages of 11 and 17 years old at the AMC Theater wing at Garden State Plaza in Paramus from Friday, July 24 through Aug. 31. The artists, who attended One River’s summer camps, are from Englewood, Englewood Cliffs, Teaneck, Ridgewood, Fort Lee, and other municipalities.
“A number of the mediums that we used and the large size of works varied from conventional standards,” said One River Assistant Director Angela Shin. “Our artists embraced these challenges and came up with incredible pieces, and I’m super proud of what they accomplished.”
Street art has risen to prominence as one of the most dominant forms of art over the past 30 years. Artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Banksy have received critical acclaim for their use of street art as a creative outlet, and the genre has gained widespread acceptance among the art community.
