Several bomb threats were reported at North Jersey schools Tuesday morning, police said.

A bomb threat was called into Fair Lawn High School at about 9 a.m., Fair Lawn police Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

The threat was one of many reported Tuesday morning in several Bergen and Passaic county towns. Similar threats were reported in Englewood, Teaneck, Bergenfield, Hackensack, Tenafly, Leonia and Clifton, police said.

Here is a list of threats and where they stand as of noon Tuesday:

  • In Fair Lawn, students were safely moved to Memorial Middle School, Metzler said. The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office cleared the school of any threats and students were returned, the Fair Lawn Police Department said at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
  • Bergen County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Anthony Cureton said that the county Bomb Squad was dispatched to high schools in the following municipalities Tuesday morning: Bergenfield, Englewood, Teaneck, Hackensack, Tenafly, and Leonia.
  • Englewood police received a call at 8:50 a.m. from Dwight Morrow High School regarding a bomb threat “somewhere on the campus,” said Detective Capt. Timothy Torell. The campus was evacuated and students, staff, and teachers were evacuated to nearby areas while a K-9 unit swept the area. The evacuation was lifted about 11 a.m., Torell said. “We take this stuff seriously,” Torell said. ”It could be kids playing games or someone testing the vulnerability of the system.”
  • Lockdown at Leonia School District has been lifted, and the midterm schedule has resumed, as of 11:15 a.m.
  • Lockdown lifted in the Bergenfield High School as of 10:34 a.m. According to the district, “Bergenfield HS plans to continue the school day and get the students back to normal. Lunches will be served. Counselors will be available for anyone who would like to talk about this situation. Arrangements are available at the Main Office only if you feel the need to see or pickup your child. You would just need to present ID and be patient.”
  • All Garfield public school are in “shelter-in place” lockdown as of 11:30. Staff members at the main office told Patch police were still in the building, but were preparing to give the all-clear as no evidence or threat had been found.
  • Staff members were in the central office of Tenafly High School as of 11:40 a.m. The school’s principal could not be immediately reached for comment.
  • Clifton school officials received a ”non-specific” bomb threat via voicemail, Detective Sgt. Robert Bracken said. The threat involved the placement of a bomb in a Clifton school and a threat of a “mass shooting,” Tuesday, police said. School officials forwarded the information to police. Police and district officials began investigating the threat at Clifton High School, Bracken said. Clifton High School was locked down following the threat and there is “no indication” the threat is valid, Bracken said.
  • Officials from other school districts and police departments, including Saddle Brook and Ramsey, warned parents on social media that no threats were reported in those municipalities.

A similar rash of bomb threats were also made this morning in several schools in Massachusetts.
