Elmwood Park Police Car Crashed Into SUV In Fair Lawn: Report
Police officer was not seriously injured, police said.

An Elmwood Park police cruiser and a sport utility vehicle crashed in Fair Lawn Monday at 1 p.m., according to a report.
The police officer in the cruiser was on patrol near the Elmwood Park-Fair Lawn border when the crash occurred, Elmwood Park Police Chief Michael Foligno told Cliffviewpilot.com. The cruiser looped around through Fair Lawn to head back into the town when it went through a stop sign at Lyncrest Avenue and Willow Street.
The cruiser’s lights and siren were not on when the crash occurred, the website reported.

The officer was taken to the hospital with non-serious injuries but had elevated blood pressure and was “shaken up,” Foligno told the website. The two SUV occupants were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.
The Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Police Services is conducting an impartial investigation of the crash, the report stated.
