Fair Lawn Cop Who Allegedly Sexted Teen Girls Won't Get Out On Bail Until Next Week: Report
Eric J. Reamy, 51, has been taken off suicide watch.

Eric J. Reamy, a Glen Rock police detective and Fair Lawn resident, who is accused of sexting two teenage girls he was supposed to be helping, will not be released on bail until next week at the earliest due to concerns over missing weapons and Reamy’s mental state, a judge said Friday.
Reamy, a 27-year veteran of the Glen Rock Police Department who worked with juveniles, has been taken off suicide watch while at the Bergen County Jail, The Record reported. He was placed there upon arriving at the jail.
Superior Court Judge Edward Jerejian continued Reamy’s release hearing until Tuesday due to concerns about a disposition taken regarding two of Reamy’s missing guns, the newspaper reported. Reamy owns 11 guns and two of the four missing ones have been accounted for, but there are no transaction records for the missing two.

Reamy, 51, is accused of sending two photos of his “private part” to a 14-year-old girl and allegedly encouraging her to send him naked photos of herself, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said earlier in the week. He has been charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Reamy also allegedly exchanged explicit sexual text messages with the 14-year-old and a 17-year-old who he was supposed to be supervising as the Glen Rock police’s juvenile officer; he was due to retire at the end of the month, The Record reported and has been suspended without pay since his arrest.

Jerejian said he would consider releasing Reamy on house arrest with a GPS ankle bracelet and permit him to leave his Fair Lawn home to visit his doctor and attorney, The Record reported.
Prosecutor Daniel Keitel said authorities would like to hear from the jail psychiatrist to determine if Reamy poses a danger before releasing him, The Record’s report stated.
