Fair Lawn Dealt a Discount

A discount variety store will soon fill the vacant 15,000-square-foot building on Fair Lawn Avenue that previously housed a Rite Aid Pharmacy.

Deal$, a multi-price point variety chain with 177 locations nationwide, is slated to open its Fair Lawn location on Sept. 30.

Owned by Dollar Tree, Inc., a publicly traded chain of discount variety stores that sells every item for $1 or less, Deal$ differentiates itself by selling some items for more than $1.

“At Deal$, everything is a value, but not everything is a dollar,” Dollar Tree spokeswoman Shelly Davis said.

Davis said most of the store’s inventory – which includes name brand, private label and local brand items –sells for $5 or less.
