Fair Lawn Man, 18, Charged With Aggravated Assault

Two men were allegedly assaulted while walking on Howard Avenue, police said.

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — A borough resident and another man were charged with aggravated assault earlier this month, police said.

Two men went to the Fair Lawn Police Headquarters to report that they had been assaulted on Howard Avenue at Alden Terrace as they were walking home July 4 at about 1 a.m., Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

As a result of an investigation, Zachary Louis, 18, of Fair Lawn was arrested July 8 and Nicholas Ryan, 18, of Garfield, was arrested July 11, Metzler said. They were both charged with aggravated assault and endangering an injured person, police said.

Both men were released after they were charged.
