Fair Lawn Man Charged With Drunk Driving: Police
Several people with outstanding warrants were arrested and multiple people were charged with driving while intoxicated.

- Officer Luis Vasquez Officer Louis Evangelista initiated a motor vehicle stop Dec. 16 at 9:54 p.m. on Southern Drive at Plaza Road and arrested the operator, Dennis Crosby, 67, of Fair Lawn, after he was allegedly unable to perform a roadside sobriety test, police said. Crosby was charged with careless driving and driving while intoxicated, then transported to Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus for an evaluation, police said.
- Officer Brian Goodson and officer Brian Rypkema approached a suspicious person on Plaza Road and Waverly Road Dec. 21 at 1:23 p.m. and arrested Jagjit Singh, 40, of Closter, when an arrest warrant was located out of Hasbrouck Heights for $1,000, police said. He was turned over to Hasbrouck Heights police.
- Officer Chris O’Shaughnessy initiated a motor vehicle stop on Lincoln Avenue at Wagaraw Road Dec. 21 at 7:13 p.m. and arrested the operator, Sean Moody, age 30 of Fair Lawn, after an arrest warrant was located out of Montvale for $200. He was released after bail was posted.
- Officer Edward Egan, auxiliary Officer Kyle Tenis, Detective David Boone, and Capt. Robert Kneer responded to CVS at 29-00 Broadway on a shoplifter leaving the store and arrested Kenneth Lyons, age 54, of Englewood, after he was allegedly caught in the parking lot with $59.43 in unpaid items. Arrest warrants were discovered for Lyons out of Englewood ($9,214) and Teaneck ($47). He was charged with shoplifting. Bail was set at $2,500, police said, and he was sent to Bergen County Jail.
- Officer Eric Eleshewich, Officer Anthony Lugo, Officer Luke Hintzen, and Officer Robert Manning responded to CVS, 29-00 Broadway, Dec. 21 on a report of a shoplifting in progress and arrested James McGonnell, age 29 of Paterson, as he was allegedly leaving the business with unpaid items. McGonnell, who was also a suspect in a previous shoplifting on Dec. 21 at the same business, was charged with two counts of shoplifting. His bail was set at $2,500 and he was sent to Bergen County Jail.
- On Sunday, Lt. James Corcoran approached a suspicious person walking on Pomona Avenue near Catherine Street and arrested Saphir Shannon, age 23 of Paterson, after arrest warrants were located out of Paterson ($1,600), Atlantic City ($750) & Elmwood Park ($500). He was handed over to Paterson Police.
- On Sunday, Officer Anthony Ferreira and Officer Stephen Buskiewicz initiated a motor vehicle stop on Chandler Drive near Fair Lawn Avenue and arrested the operator, a 17-year-old male from Saddle Brook, and three passengers, all 16 and also from Saddle Brook, after evidence of marijuana use was allegedly found inside the vehicle, police said. All of the juveniles were released to parents and will be charged with drug offenses in family court. The operator was also charged with maintenance of lamps and a probationary license violation.
- Officer Kevin Wood responded to Victoria Road Monday night on a report of motor vehicle crash and arrested Ryan Dunnigan, age 20 of Fair Lawn, after it was determined that Dunnigan was allegedly under the influence of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle, police said. Dunnigan was also found to have a fake Connecticut driver’s license in his possession. He was charged with possession of a false government document and driving while intoxicated, then transported to Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus for evaluation.
