Fair Lawn Man Uses Mixed Martial Arts To Subdue Car Burglar: Police
Kevin Stark, 41, was caught taking a debit card, GPS, and other items out of someone's vehicle in the Fair Lawn Commons lot, police said.

FAIR LAWN, N.J. - A borough resident used mixed martial arts to subdue a man who was burglarizing a neighbor's car Thursday night, police said.
Several borough police officers responded to Hoitsma Court in the Fair Lawn Commons on a report of a man burglarizing a parked vehicle, said Sgt. Brian Metzler.
They found Kevin Stark Jr., 41, of Elmwood Park, passed out in the parking lot, Metlzer said.

A witness found Stark burglarizing his neighbor's 2015 Nissan Altima, the sergeant said.
The man approached Stark about what he was doing and Stark tried to "push off" the man, police said.

The witness, who knows mixed martial arts, was able to subdue Stark until he passed out on the ground, Metzler said. Stark allegedly took baseball equipment, a GPS, and a debit card from the car, police said.
The Fair Lawn Ambulance Corps took Stark to the Bergen Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
Stark was charged with robbery, burglary, and theft of moveable property. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail once he was medically cleared to leave the hospital. His bail was set at $20,000.
