Fair Lawn Police Accepting Applications For Explorers Program

Group meets once a month for on-the-job training.

FAIR LAWN, N.J. – The police department's Law Enforcement Explorers program is accepting applications for new members.

The program is run through the Boy Scouts of America and serves as a jumping off point for children to determine if they want to enter the criminal justice field.

The group meets once a month for training and offers attendees unique opportunities to learn. A camp is held in the summer and explorers can go on ride-alongs with officers.

Applicants must be at least 14 years old, high school freshman, and be in good academic standing.

Applications are available at the Fair Lawn Police Headquarters, 8-01 Fair Lawn Avenue.
