Fair Lawn Police Charge Man With Shoplifting, Drug Possession Twice In 2 Days

Frank Gentile, 22, of Dumont, allegedly stole more than $500 worth of merchandise from CVS, police said.

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — A Bergen man was charged with drug possession and shoplifting from the same borough business twice in two days this week, police said.

Frank Gentile, 22, of Dumont was arrested after police responded to CVS on Broadway Monday on a report of shoplifting, authorities said.

Police stopped a jitney bus at Broadway on Banta Place and allegedly discovered evidence of drug use and $300 in unpaid items in Gentile's backpack, police said. Gentile was charged with shoplifting, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities said.

Gentile was arrested again the next afternoon after police responded to the same CVS after he allegedly left the store without paying for more than $250 in merchandise, police said.

Police found Gentile on Zink Place; police against discovered evidence of drug use and the merchandise in his backpack, authorities said.

Gentile was charged with shoplifting, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. His bail was set at $500 and he was sent to the Bergen County Jail, authorities said.
