Improving Safety The Reason For River Road Traffic Light Change

Timing of red-to-green change altered by 20 seconds, police said.

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Authorities have changed the timing on the traffic light at the intersection of Morlot Avenue and River Road to improve pedestrian safety.

There is now a 20 second delay designed to help increase safety at the intersection, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

Officials are letting the westbound traffic go for 20 seconds and delaying traffic heading east for the same amount of time.
