Mail Carrier Fails To Deliver 1,000 pieces Of Mail

Dominic Damiani of Saddle Brook may have a drug problem, police said.

A mail carrier with possible heroin habit and a route in Fair Lawn, is accused of failing to deliver more than 1,000 pieces of mail over the past three months, police said.

Saddle Brook resident Dominic Damiani, 37, was arrested Aug. 13 on possession of drug paraphernalia, police Chief Robert Kugler said in a statement.

Police discovered a syringe, gas pipe, and wax folds of suspected heroin residue in his possession, Kugler said.

Authorities discovered the undelivered mail in the trunk of Damiani’s car, the report states, which has been delivered, Kugler said.

Damiani was charged with theft because he failed to deliver the mail.
