Man Robs $10,000 From Fair Lawn Bank Friday: Police

Breaking: The man reportedly handed a teller a note that read 'Money, or you'll die,' police said.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — A man robbed $10,000 from the Columbia Bank branch Friday afternoon, police said.

Police received a call from the bank about the robbery at 4:32 p.m., said Lt. Eric Leipman.

A man walked into the bank and passed a note to a teller that stated, "Money, or you'll die," Leipman said. The teller gave the man the money and he fled the bank on foot, he said.

The man was described as black, wearing all black clothes and a black hoodie, Leipman said.

Police are actively investigating the robbery and ask anyone with information to call them at 201-796-1400.
