Radburn Players Open Hilarious Shakespeare Mash-Up This Weekend
(Fair Lawn, November 5, 2014) What happens when three actors try to perform all of Shakespeare’s plays in 120 minutes or less? Side-splitting shenanigans, that’s what! The Radburn Players’ high-velocity, over the top comedy, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), opens Friday, November 14 at the Radburn Association Grange Hall, 29-20 Fair Lawn Avenue in Fair Lawn, and continues November, 15, 16, 20, 21 and 22. The curtain rises at 8 pm each evening, except for Sunday, November 16, when show time is at 2 pm. Tickets can be purchased at each performance at $15 for adults ($10 for members) and $12 for students and seniors. All seats are general admission
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) has been delighting audiences around the world. Directed by Amy Sellars and starring Holly Cerelli, Ian Murphy and Art Murray, the Radburn production is performed at breakneck speed with a large degree of hilarious improvisation. The first half runs through 36 of Shakespeare’s plays, at about two minutes per work, as cast members race on, off and around the stage in controlled pandemonium. The second half is the funniest production of Hamlet imaginable. The interplay between the three actors and the immortal bard provide one of the greatest comedy experiences that most audiences are ever likely to see.
Special ticket promotions are adding even more value to the show. Fair Lawn’s Rail Yard Tavern is offering a “Dinner and Show” prix fixe dinner package on Saturday, November 15, with two menus available. Call (201) 773-3372 for details. Thursday, November 20 is “Date Night,” when showgoers can purchase one ticket at full price and get the second at half-off. On Saturday, November 22, the audience is invited to a complementary “Meet the Cast” reception follows the show, with plenty to eat and drink.
