"Revealing Common Ground" Fine Art Exhibition

“Revealing Common Ground” exhibition invites the viewers to discover the commonalities between the various participating artists’ works.

The art was selected through an open call for submissions and were chosen because of the similarities found in various artists’ works. It is common that artists working in a particular region, during a particular period of time are influenced by the events and experiences of the current culture. This exhibition reveals a continuity, which transcends the variety of mediums in which the ideas are expressed.

The exhibition features monumental sculptures by Peter Strasser, in which he combines stone and wood in dynamic ways and sculptures by Ned Walsh with delicate balance and the elegant terra cotta figures which carry movement and grace in abstracted forms by Marilyn Friedman.

The balanced compositions of John Rosis, photographs of ice by Christian Ivan, Celine Ennis’s subtle encaustics Carleen Murdock’s colorful watercolors and the skill of Lana Privitera’s use of watercolor, are just a few of the elements of the various forms of art shown.

The exhibition opens at the Blue Hill Art & Cultural Center, in December and runs through April of next year. Please join us and discover what the art reveals to you and meet the artists at the OPENING RECEPTION, December 4th 6- 8pm.
