Sexting Cop From Fair Lawn One Step Closer To Bail: Report

Glen Rock Sgt. Erick Reamy is one step closer to being released on bail with an electronic ankle bracelet.
Jacqueline Gill, a mental health technician who conducts suicide risk assessments on inmates coming into the Bergen County Jail testified in Superior Court Monday that she took conducted an assessment on Reamy last Thursday and found he did not pose a risk to others, The Record reported.
Reamy, a Fair Lawn resident, is accused of engaging in sexually explicit text messages with two teenage girls he was supervising, and exchanging nude photos with one of them. He was charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He has been suspended without pay.

Gill testified Reamy’s placement on suicide watch by a nurse was standard protocol due to the sexual nature of the charges and his $250,000 bail.
Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Daniel Maro said he was concerned about two guns that Reamy once owned because records authenticating that they have been sold have not been found, the report states.

Superior Court Judge Susan Steele continued the hearing to Wednesday, but tentatively ordered that Reamy be placed into the monitoring program on the condition that he receive another mental health evaluation, the report states.
