Three-Alarm Fair Lawn Fire Leaves Two Homes Uninhabitable: Report

Fire allegedly started in a shed and spread to the two homes.

A three-alarm fire Friday that authorities said spread from an outdoor shed damaged two homes to the point where they are uninhabitable, authorities said.

The fire started outside in a shed between the two homes, Fair Lawn Fire Chief Kirk Wolthouse told The Record.

Wolthouse said the fire left the homes at 41-77 and 61-65 Rys Terrace uninhabitable; no one was injured but one person was in one of the homes when the fire started, the report states. The fire was under control by 4:30 p.m.

Firefigthers from Glen Rock, Saddle Brook, Hawthrone, and Elmwood Park responded to the fire, the report states.
