Leonia Chamber Musicians Society to Perform Final Season Concert on March 10. Students Under 18 Admitted Free.

The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society, Inc. presents its final concert of the season on March 10, 2013, 7:30 p.m., at the Leonia United Methodist Church, 396 Broad Avenue, in Leonia, New Jersey. The concert is dedicated to the memory of cellist Peter Rosenfeld, one of the original founders of the ensemble.
An integral part of the nonprofit organization’s mission is to provide high quality performances that are affordable and accessible to the public. Tickets at the door are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors over 65. A family friendly ticket price is offered with students under age 18 admitted FREE.
The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society’s program features the resonance of the piano, operatic and rich melodies by Johannes Brahms and Mikhail Glinka and the exuberance of Wallingford Riegger. The program includes Riegger’s Concerto For Piano and Woodwind Quintet, Glinka’s Grand Sextet for Piano and Strings and Brahms’ B Major Piano Trio.

The talented line-up of professional musicians performing in this last concert of the season are the Leonia Chamber Musicians Society’s Patricia Dougherty, bass; Daryl Goldberg, cello; Marsha Heller, oboe; Theresa Norris, flute; and William J. Scribner, bassoon. They are joined by colleagues Roy Lewis and Roxanne Bergman, violins; Maggie Speier, viola; Mitchell Kriegler, clarinet; Richard Hagen, French horn; and Steven Masi, piano. All the musicians perform in the major concert halls of New York City with prominent orchestras, such as American Ballet Theater, Bronx Arts Ensemble, Queens Symphony, Metropolitan Opera, and the New York Pops, in addition to teaching and performing throughout New Jersey.
Refreshments are served after the concert, and the audience has an opportunity to meet and greet the musicians.

The Leonia Chamber Musicians Society, Inc., a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, enriches the cultural environment of the community by presenting a series of high quality, affordable, and accessible chamber music concerts. The members of the Leonia Chamber Musicians generate the excitement of a live performance with professional talent: all of them perform in the major concert halls of New York City.
Music for the programs is selected to educate the audience about different periods and styles of music. Throughout the concerts, presentations are given about the music being played, the composers, the musicians and related subjects.
