Good Shepherd Blesses Pets, Meets ‘Outragehiss’ Animals [PHOTOS]

The annual event at the Church of the Good Shepherd is in celebration of the Feast Day of Saint Francis.

Fort Lee’s Church of the Good Shepherd celebrated its annual Animal Blessing Sunday with a Eucharist to which people were encouraged to bring their pets and an “exotic animal show” from Outragehiss Pets, a Chestnut Ridge, N.Y. organization dedicated to teaching children about wildlife, after the service.

According to Rev. Allison Moore of Good Shepherd, the event is a celebration of “St. Francis’ delight in creation and commitment to peace.
