Bridgegate Sentencing Hearings Rescheduled Due To Blizzard

William Baroni and Bridget Anne Kelly each face a possible 20-year prison sentence.

The sentencing hearings of two ex-aides found guilty in the Bridgegate scandal has been postponed due to the blizzard.

William Baroni and Bridget Anne Kelly were scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday. Those proceedings have been rescheduled to March 29. Baroni's hearing is at the Newark federal courthouse at 10:30 a.m.; Kelly's is at noon.

Kelly, the governor’s former deputy chief of staff, and Baroni, the top Christie executive appointee at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, were found guilty of all charges connected to the scandal in November.

They each face a maximum sentence of 20-plus years in prison, but judicial experts say perhaps two to three more years is more likely.

Kelly and Baroni faced conspiracy, wire fraud and civil rights charges that they conspired with Wildstein to close access lanes to the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee to punish its Democratic mayor, Mark Soko­lich, for not endorsing Christie for re-election in 2013.
