UPDATE: One Lane Open Folllwing Tractor-Trailer Fuel Spill On GWB
All New Jersey-bound lanes were blocked Friday afternoon, authorities said.
Traffic was moving slowly following a fuel spill and motor vehicle crash on the George Washington Bridge's upper level, authorities said.
Forty to 50 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the roadway and closed the entire New Jersey-bound upper level Friday afternoon, said Joe Pentangelo, a Port Authority spokesman.
The New York City Fire Department received a call regarding the crash at 12:13 p.m. The crash appears to have been caused when the track hit part of the bridge, fire officials said.
