Off-Duty Fort Lee Police Officer Injured In Two-Car Accident
Officer Laki Pothos was "alert and conscious" following the accident.

An off-duty Fort Lee police officer was seriously injured in a two-car accident Friday morning in Rockleigh.
Fort Lee Police Chief Keith Bendul said Officer Laki Pothos was alert and conscious at a hospital, NorthJersey.com reported. Pothos has been on the force since January 2013. Pothos’ brother is also a Fort Lee cop.
“He’s a highly dedicated officer,” Bendul said. “Motor vehicle crashes have serious consequences and we’re fortunate that everybody appears to be OK.”

The crash was reported around 9:45 a.m. Pothos was driving a four-door Jeep Wrangler when it was involved in the accident with a Nissan Altima that, according to the report, appeared to have been traveling in the opposite direction, the website reported.
Pothos was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
