TEANECK, NJ – Ethical Brew Coffeehouse, a new live music venue at The Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County, welcomes singer/songwriter, CARSIE BLANTON and special guest performer HERVÉ, on Friday, March 29th at 8pm for an evening of music and fundraising to benefit EDEYO, a Haitian initiative providing free education, nutrition and social services to children in Port-au-Prince, Haiti
Ms. Blanton, who currently hails from Louisiana, is an American-made original whose musical style defies categorization. Her unique vocalizations have earned her the attention of such industry notables as Joan Osburne, The Wood Brothers, The Weepies and the legendary Paul Simon, with whom she toured in 2011. Her finest work so far, her recent release “Idiot Heart”, (January 2012) received much critical acclaim and reveals Carsie to be a preternaturally gifted storyteller with a deeply personal perspective that touches a universal chord.
The concert will open with special guest performing artist, Hervé. Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Herve’s musical influences are both global and diverse, ranging from Haitian greats to Jacques Brel, American jazz and Bob Marley. His soulful voice and original lyrics convey his positive sentiments about his greatest influence of all -- his beloved homeland of Haiti. Hervé has performed at The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, The Museum of Art & Design in NYC and the University of Miami. His universal songs have been played on the radio in over sixteen countries.
