Fort Lee Library's Gallery: January & February 2013
Jane Sklar is an artist, photographer, videographer, and jewelry designer. Born and raised in New York City, she currently resides in Fort Lee. Together with her teacher and mentor, Max Cartagena, Jane has perfected a unique style of transforming her original photographs into dazzling digital creations, utilizing a handful of both photo editing and graphics programs without the use of Photoshop®. She massages, splices, layers and manipulates the playful pixels; the results are a journey of color, fantasy, and whimsy for the senses. www.maxjersey.com/janesklar.html
Born and raised in Manhattan's Lower East Side, Max Cartagena has written and recorded music, worked in Hollywood independent films both in front of and behind the camera, modeled, and designed websites, which evolved into his unique brand of digitally-generated artwork. His art has been displayed in New York and New Jersey and is available online at cafepress.com/sklarcartagena.
