The Philip Jones Quartet, featuring the trombone and vocal stylings of Philip Jones, will be performing standards of the jazz and swing repertoire including tunes by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, George Gershwin, and many other favorites.
Philip Jones, jazz trombonist and recording artist from New York, by way of Nashville, is an extremely versatile player who has performed with leading jazz musicians including Buddy Rich, Chuck Mangione, Ray Charles, and the Maynard Ferguson Reunion Band. As a college student he was twice chosen for Downbeat Magazine's All Star College Jazz Big Band, and once for Downbeat Magazine's All Star College Jazz Combo. He has performed on numerous Grammy-award winning recordings both in Nashville and New York. Philip plays Conn-Selmer instruments exclusively.
