Fort Lee A&P Evacuated Due To Bomb Threat: Report

Area was cordoned off to traffic as authorities investigated the incident, a company spokesperson said.

Authorities evacuated the A&P supermarket due to a bomb threat Wednesday night.

The area near the George Washington Bridge was closed to traffic as Fort Lee and county police investigated the incident, NorthJersey.com reported.

The store was evacuated around 6 p.m. and reopened about an hour later, an A&P spokeswoman told the website in an e-mail.

Joanne Fischetti, an A&P spokeswoman, said in an email to the website that a bomb threat was called in by an “unidentified person and police responded to the scene.”

Fort Lee police and Fischetti did not respond to requests for information.
