Fort Lee Police Runners Help Support Special Olympics With Torch Run
The goal of the Torch Run is to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics New Jersey. The torch made its way through Fort Lee and 299 other communities.
Seven dedicated Law Enforcement officers from the recently participated in the 29th Annual Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey.
The athletes from the local police department ran a four-mile leg of the Torch Run from Leoina through Fort Lee, down Anderson Avenue to North Bergen.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey has long been a world leader in fundraising for the Special Olympics.

In 2011, the group raised more than $2.7 million for the organization. More than 2,300 athletes competed at The College of New Jersey last weekend during the 2012 Special Olympics New Jersey Summer Games.
