Fort Lee Ranked 46th Safest Place To Live In N.J.

More than a dozen Bergen County municipalities were included on CreditDonkey.com's list.

FORT LEE, NJ - Fort Lee was named the 46th safest places to live in New Jersey recently.

The municipality was one of more than a dozen from Bergen County to be included on creditdonkey.com’s list of the top 50 safest places to live.

The website evaluated 2014 FBI Crime Report data, and looked at the number of violent crimes, robberies, property crimes, which included theft, vandalism, and shoplifting, and burglaries.

According to the rankings:

“Fort Lee offers convenient access to New York City while still maintaining its own identity as a thriving community. More than 36,000 people call the area home, and affordable housing, paired with culturally diverse neighborhoods, are what keep newcomers flooding in. The low crime rate is another perk, and one that can be chalked up to the Fort Lee Police Department’s community policing approach.”

Robberies per 1,000: 0.1

Property crime per 1,000: 7.1

Burglaries per 1,000: 1.4
