Man Seriously Injures Woman During Fort Lee ATM Robbery: Police

BREAKING: The woman was at the ATM at M&T Bank on Main Street Sunday night when the attack and robbery occurred, police said.

FORT LEE, NJ — Police are looking for a man who attacked and robbed a woman at an ATM on Main Street Sunday night.

The strong-arm robbery occurred at the M&T Bank at 303 Main St. at about 10:19 p.m., Chief Keith Bendul said in a news release.

The attacker stole cash and two cell phones from the woman then threw her to the ground, leaving her with serious injuries, Bendul said.

The attacker was last seen on the south walkway of the George Washington Bridge heading east toward Manhattan, the chief said, noting that the suspect may have been near 40th Street and 8th Avenue shortly after the attack.

Police describe the suspect as white, possibly Hispanic, between 5 foot 6 and 5 foot 8 inches tall, wearing a flat cap hat, a black and white T-shirt, black shorts and black sneakers and was seen riding a red-and-white colored mountain bike, Bendul said.
