MILITARY ASSISTANCE PROJECT LAUNCHES INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

An acclaimed organization providing debt relief services to veterans expands its reach with 5 new interns, spanning 5 states.

Military Assistance Project  (MAP), known for connecting veterans with pro-bono, military-friendly bankruptcy attorneys along the east coast, plans to devote individual attention to Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, and New York with the help of 5 new interns. This is the first time MAP has incorporated undergraduate and graduate students to grow its influence along the east coast since its inception in 2011.

The interns hail from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, University of Virginia, NYU, University of Notre Dame, and West Chester University Graduate School. The interns’ experience and expertise in marketing, law, and communication are promising for MAP’s goals of expansion.

“Our Marketing Specialist team is the engine that will drive this new round of outreach to neighboring states. We needed 'boots on the ground', and these motivated, bright students are helping us to achieve our vision,” says Dianna Schwartz, MAP’s Executive Director.

“We are empowering our Marketing Specialists to act freely and creatively. We've charged them only with the mission to outreach our message to service members still in need, and pledged to provide the tools and training necessary to do so,” Schwartz said. The interns will have creative power to employ a marketing strategy of their own design.

So far, the interns have plans to conduct trainings and hold workshops with organizations in all 5 states, expand and deepen their marketing reach with relationship building communication strategies, and finally, to gain exposure to grant research and writing.

“I’m thrilled to gain the marketing, grant writing, and public relations experience, all while contributing to such a worthy cause,” says Jonathan Weyand, the intern who will focus his efforts on Pennsylvania. “It’s a gift to have this professional experience by helping out those who sacrifice everything to protect us.”

The Military Assistance Project is thrilled to announce this expansion in their marketing team, and welcomes the forwarding of this information to all active duty, reservists, and veterans who may be served.
