Port Authority Cops Arrest Alleged Toll Cheats At GWB

One driver had hundreds of dollars at the time, police said.

Port Authority police made two toll violation arrests within 10 minutes of each other at the George Washington Bridge on Tuesday.

Although neither suspect paid the toll, one had hundreds of dollars on his person at the time of the incident, police said.

The first motorist, a 25-year-old Brooklyn man, was arrested around 9:20 a.m. According to police, his blue Volkswagon Jetta had no license plates when he passed through the toll.

The second motorist, a 39-year-old man from Englewood Cliffs, was arrested at 9:30 a.m. According to police, his 2015 Hep Cherokee displayed an unreadable temporary tag with no affixed license plates. He also had an outstanding traffic warrant.

Police charged both men with theft of services (tolls).
