This
program highlights music written or co-written by women composers and
lyricists, many of whom in the early decades of popular song, had to struggle
for recognition and acceptance in their field. Among those being celebrated are
Dorothy Fields, one of the foremost composers of popular American song who co-wrote
classics such as The Way You Look Tonight and I'm In The Mood For Love; Ann
Ronell who penned Willow Weep For Me, and Peggy Lee.
