Atlantic County Restaurant Burns Right After Reopening: Reports

Popular Ventnor sandwich shop Sack O'Subs was damaged in a fire just a week after reopening under new ownership.

VENTNOR, NJ β€” Eight days after reopening under new ownership, a popular Atlantic County sandwich shop was burned in a fire and temporarily closed, according to reports.

Sack O'Subs was damaged after a three-alarm fire next door on June 18, according to the Press of Atlantic City. It had only reopened on June 10 after a sudden Memorial Day closing by franchisee Fred Spitalnick, the report said. Anthony Sacco, who operates the Absecon location and whose grandfather opened the business in 1969, took over, according to the report.

"I’m just sick to my stomach over what has happened," Sacco told the news outlet.
